My interest in humanity-centered work started in Bataan, Philippines, where I grew up in a refugee camp where my parents taught English. Years after I immigrated to Los Angeles, I got a job in social services, helping prospective parents navigate the complicated adoption process.
It was in library school that I learned about user experience and dedicated my career to making information easy to navigate and understand.
I’m also an artist and writer at Sampaguita Studio, my creative consultancy where I design immersive experiences that use food and place as vectors for telling interactive stories.
